About the CCA
Vista Bear Cub Scouts develops young people who can become active citizens and contribute positively to their communities. Through the Scout Promise and Law and a programme of practical and outdoor learning, Cub Scouts are encouraged to grow into independent individuals who play constructive roles in society.
What Students Experience
Members participate in games and outdoor activities and learn foundational Scouting skills including knotting and tent pitching. Current programme examples also include nature exploration, campfire songs, team-bonding activities, Job Week and the Sixer Training Camp. Scouts earn badges as recognition of their accomplishments.

New recruits begin as Tenderfoots and undergo a trial period before purchasing their uniform. After several months, once a Tenderfoot has earned the World Scout Badge and uniform, an investiture ceremony marks progression to Cub Scout. Exemplary Cub Scouts may attend the Sixer Training Camp to prepare for Sixer or Assistant Sixer responsibilities.
