At MOE Kindergarten, we nurture joyful, curious learners through the Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework — building confidence, bilingual skills, and strong foundations in literacy and numeracy through purposeful play and meaningful experiences.
Flagship Programmes
The children embark on an exciting learning journey through the two flagship programmes, the HI-Light Programme and Starlight Literacy Programme for English Language (EL) and Mother Tongue Languages (MTL). In addition, the children will also engage in a Weeks of Wonder(WoW) project each term.
HI-Light Programme
Designed to support holistic development of children by nurturing in them:
Values, social and emotional skills, positive attitudes to learning and executive functioning skills. Knowledge and skills across the following 5 learning areas through an integrated approach:

Health, Safety and Motor Skills Development
Language and Literacy

Starlight Literacy (EL & MTL) Programme
Designed to nurture early childhood bilingualism in English and Mother Tongue Languages (Chinese, Malay, Tamil)
Focuses on developing children's interest in language learning, listening, speaking and early reading and writing skills
Uses Big Books, songs and games set in the local context to make learning fun and meaningful
Provides opportunities for children to communicate in EL and MTL with confidence and be aware of local traditions and customs
Encourages families to be involved in activities to enthuse children in language learning
Weeks of Wonder (WoW)
Designed to promote collaborative, self-motivated learning
In each term, children's learning experiences in the MK are extended in a project which enables the children to be involved in an in-depth investigation of a topic of their interest during the Weeks of Wonder (WoW).
The focus of the project is on finding answers to questions about a topic posed by the children with the teacher facilitating the three phases.
"I Wonder, I Find Out, I Know".
The WoW projects enable children to experience the joy of self-motivated learning and help them develop confidence and positive dispositions toward learning through exploration, experimentation and problem-solving.
