Rugby is a team contact sport. The values of integrity, passion, solidarity, discipline and respect are instilled in our players through the game. Students are recruited into the school team starting from Primary 2 for early exposure and are trained in basic ball-handling and no-contact gameplay. Students will only start playing contact rugby after 1 or 2 years of basic training. Every year, the school takes part in the National School Games Rugby Championships as well as other external competitions.
The programme provides training to adequately equip our members with the necessary skills and knowledge of the game to compete at National Level in the annual National Schools Games (NSG).
There are 3 teams - Seniors, Juniors and Rookies. Seniors and Juniors who are committed and consistent in their progression will be shortlisted to represent the school to take part in the National Schools Games.
|All P2s, P3s and P4s will train for at least 1 year in the Rookies Team.|
*P4s players will be promoted to the Juniors Team from second semester onwards to begin training for contact rugby.
|All P5s will train under the Juniors Team from Term 1 to Term 4.||All P6s will step down from CCA after participating in the National Primary Schools Senior Under 13s Rugby Championship which takes place in April annually.|
*If the student is committed and shows progression during training. Note that promotion to Juniors or Seniors Team does not necessarily mean that the student will be selected to participate in the NSG.
