The co-curricular framework in North Vista Primary School provides students with various pathways and opportunities to construct knowledge through a broad range of meaningful experiences. The framework anchors on the provision of mass participation and opportunities for excellence. Through CCAs, we endeavour to develop in each student a lifelong pursuit of healthy living and exposure to the aesthetics from the foundational years.
The framework encourages risk-taking, develops social competencies, inculcates a spirit of enterprise and innovation and nurtures potential talents to ensure that students are able to achieve different peaks of successes.
The Modular CCA comprises of a broad-based, 7-week co-curricular programme that provides the platform for students to nurture their varied interests as they discover and pursue their passion. The modular approach enables students to discuss their interests with their parents in selecting their modular CCA. Every child would be able to select one Modular CCA per term from Term 1 to Term 3. This would in turn provide every child with the opportunity to experience up to 3 CCAs in a year.
Important Notes for Modular CCAs:
1. *Badminton & In-line skating will be conducted on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. – 3.30 p.m. Please note that these 2 CCAs are purely basic modules for students to have an appreciation of the sport. There is no Excellence wing for both CCAs unlike other Modular CCAs.
2. #Boys’ Brigade Girls’ Brigade will be conducted on Wednesdays from 2 p.m. – 3.30 p.m.
3. All other Modular CCAs are conducted on Mondays from 2 p.m. – 3.30 p.m., unless otherwise stated above.
Through the Excellence CCA programme, various pathways of excellence are offered to students who have shown talent will be identified to engage in this programme.
Students in this programme undergo intense training under specialised coaches and instructors with the objective of refining and nurturing their potential. In turn, these students will be exposed to various platforms that would offer them opportunities to enhance and further hone their talents. This may come in the form of competitions, performances, exhibitions at various levels (inter-school, national or international).
This programme aims to realise the potential of the students through meticulous preparation and developmentally appropriate trainings. This in turn would contribute to the portfolio of the students which could be used to obtain entry into various secondary schools of choice through Direct School Admission (DSA).
